I just want to be average

In this article Mike Rose uses mostly pathos because in his essay he talks about his memories. Mike talks about mostly about what anyone would remember when you are in high school. Remember the popular kids, the trouble makers and your own friends. There is always something in life that sticks with you until you find an answer and for Mike Rose was when one of his classmates said that he just wanted to be average. At the time a lot of things could sound stupid, but then we realize that maybe is not that stupid that it has a meaning. Mike Rose also remembers his father and the things that happened to him.
The main point of the reading is how one teacher Mr. MacFarland changed his life, he made a difference in Mikes life. Mike had people in and out of his life, but for him Mr. MacFarland was the one that made a point. Mike started thinking different about reading and what school was about. The most important is that even thought he didn't have perfect grades Mr. MacFarland made Mike realize that he could still make it.
Mr. MacFarland made class different and actually became friends with his students. Mike Rose started college with Mr. MacFarlands help, but also knew that he had to make it on his own to be able to stay at Loyola University. Mike Rose has good and bad memories, but he decided to do the best to make them a positive things in his life.

I think you have a great point at the fact that a lot of people don't realize things until later on in life. I remember a lot of stuff from high school and I didn't know what it meant until now. I like hoe you said that the teacher became the student’s friend. I however didn't see it that way until I read your blog. Thanks for that point of view.
